The Inbetweeners has all clips removed from YouTube

British sitcom The Inbetweeners has had all YouTube clips from the show removed as fans fear it could be the next show to be axed from online streaming services.

It comes after Little Britain and Come Fly With Me were removed from Netflix earlier this week due to some sketches depicting white actors wearing blackface.

Three seasons of the British comedy show were made before two follow-up films (PA)

And ’Bo’ Selecta!’ actor Leigh Francis was forced to apologise recently after outrage on social media in response to him wearing blackface during some of his sketches in the early 2000s.

Now fans of The Inbetweeners believe the show could be taken off of All 4 and BritBox following the removal of the show’s smaller clips on YouTube.

One fan tweeted: "Wait huh??? How is the inbetweeners even offensive.

Another added: "Surely they’re not thinking about removing the Inbetweeners now. I’ve seen that some YouTube videos have been removed.

"Come on it’s a comedy, that’s no racism like Little Britain and its probably the most famous British comedy."

And a third said: "Just when you think 2020 can’t get any worse The Inbetweeners goes and gets axed."

However, a Channel 4 spokesman told The Sun that the reason the clips have been taken down is because of a change in rights holder.

They said: "The rights owner of The Inbetweeners (outside the UK) has changed from DRG to Banijay Group, so the standalone YouTube channel showing The Inbetweeners content has been taken down for the time being.

"The Inbetweeners full episodes are still available on All 4."
