Tottenham announce departure of four players as contracts expire

Women’s Super League club Tottenham have announced four of their players are leaving the side when their contracts expire.

Sophie Mclean, Chloe Morgan, Coral-Jade Haines and Megan Wynne will all depart this summer.

Co-manager of Spurs Karen Hills said: "I’d like to say a huge thank you to the players who are leaving us. It’s been an absolute privilege to work with them. 

"It’s never easy saying goodbye to players who have been instrumental to the success of Spurs Women over the past few seasons, but we have made so many amazing memories together that will last a lifetime. I wish them the best in their next chapter."

Sophie Mclean

Mclean, right, has spent seven years at the club (PA)

Midfielder Mclean has been at Spurs for seven years and made 126 appearances for the club, scoring six goals.

She has won four trophies in her time with the Lilywhites and was also a part of the squad that was promoted twice.

Keeper Morgan has spent three seasons at Spurs, making 60 appearances for the side, including helping them achieve promotion into the WSL last season.

Coral-Jade Haines

Haines has scored seven goals for Spurs (PA)

Haines has also spending three seasons at the club and is departing having played 55 games for the WSL side.

The forward netted seven times in her time with the London-based club.

Megan Wynne

And finally, Wynne will depart the club after two years with the side.

She initially joined on loan in 2013 and again in 2016 before agreeing a permanent deal for the last two seasons.

Wynne has been on loan at Bristol City for the past five months.

Co-manager Juan Amoros added: "We have seen Sophie develop as a player from a young age and she has played a key part in two promotions.

"Chloe has shown that she is one of the best goalkeepers around and we are very proud of all she has achieved. 

"Coral has given us moments of brilliance on the pitch and has been one of the most technically-gifted players to have ever played for Spurs Women. 

“Megan is Spurs through and through and played a vital part in our promotion to the WSL. We cannot thank them enough for all their efforts."
