Tottenham sign former Manchester United keeper Aurora Mikalsen

Former Manchester United keeper Aurora Mikalsen has agreed a one-year deal with fellow Women’s Super League side Tottenham.

The 24 year-old spent last season with the Red Devils but only featured in a League Cup match as she failed to make an impact on the first team.

Now the Norwegian shot-stopper, who has been called up to the national team but not yet received her first cap, has signed with Spurs until 2021.

Speaking to the club website, she said: "Coming to Spurs is an exciting challenge for me and I am really looking forward to the season ahead.

"There’s a good atmosphere at the club and I can’t wait to get back out there with my new team-mates.

"I think the qualities I have as a goalkeeper fit well with the way Karen and Juan want our playing style to be and I’m hoping I can continue to build my skillset."

Tottenham finished seventh in the shortened WSL season after the league campaign was ended prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers are planning for the new 2020/21 WSL season to begin on the weekend of September 5-6.
