Tyson Fury attacks ‘gutless’ Anthony Joshua and insists he would knock him out in ‘two or three rounds’

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is confident he would knock out a ’gutless’ Anthony Joshua in two or three rounds because the fellow Brit’s style is ’tailor-made’ for him.

Fury regained a version of the heavyweight title after beating Deontay Wilder in February, while Joshua holds the other three major belts following his rematch victory over Andy Ruiz Jr.

And while Fury looks set to take on Wilder in a trilogy fight next and Joshua has a mandatory challenge in Kubrat Pulev, ’The Gypsy King’ remains vocal in wanting to make an undisputed clash happen.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I've been offering to fight Joshua for quite a while. I've been trying to make that fight happen for the last five years. And it's not happened at all.

"Eddie’s (Hearn) obviously Joshua's promoter, so he'll have to be speaking to my team to make the fight happen, give the fans what they want and stop running away from the biggest fight since Lennox [Lewis] fought Frank Bruno.

"Have the guts to step up to the plate and get flattened, son!"

Fury is unbeaten in 31 professional contests, with the only blemish on his record coming against Wilder in December 2018 when they fought to a controversial draw.

Meanwhile, Joshua’s only defeat in 24 pro bouts came to Ruiz in June last year, a loss Fury feels showed mental weakness he feels he can capitalise on.

"AJ's style is tailor-made for mine. He's an upright fighter walking forward with a classic defence," he added.

"Strong and powerful. He's got no footwork, hardly any resilience. And he's a bit gutless when it comes down to getting clipped.

"I think I'd knock him out in round two, three rounds. First time I connect on him, his legs will do a dance and I'll just jump on him like the little fat kid did in America that time."
