UFC chief Dana White has controversially posed the idea that he should ‘send fighters out onto the street to stop this s***’ when discussing the Black Lives Matter protests.

Last week, UFC fighter Jon Jones was pictured taking spray cans from rioters as anger continued to rage following the death of George Floyd.

And the former light-heavyweight champion then took to Twitter to voice his disappointment at some of those causing carnage on the streets.

He said: "Is this s*** even about George Floyd anymore?!

"Why the f*** are you punk ass teenagers destroying our city!?? As a young black man trust me I’m frustrated as well.

“But this is not the way, we are starting to make a bad situation worse."

And now Jones’ boss White has come out in support of his fighter and insisted that may be the way to stop the current anarchy.

Speaking on the Steve-O Wild Ride podcast, he said: "Making a change is so much bigger than marching and protesting and all of these other things.

"I think maybe I should send UFC fighters out on the streets to stop this s***.

"Did you see him (Jon Jones) walking the streets of Albuquerque, taking spray cans out of those kids’ hands?"

The UFC was the first major company to return with live sport behind closed doors in the US when Justin Gaethje beat Tony Ferguson on May 9.

"It’s like when I wanted to come back and have fights in the pandemic," he added.

"I could have gotten all 350 of my employees, and we could have walked up and down the street and chanted ‘we wanna fight.’

"That’s not what we did. We got out and told our story in the media and worked with politicians."
