US country singer Kelsea Ballerini blasts fellow musician Chase Rice for holding ‘selfish’ concert amid pandemic

American country singer Kelsea Ballerini has criticised fellow musician Chase Rice for holding a ‘selfish’ concert in Tennessee amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rice shared a video of his performance on his Instagram on Saturday which showed a large group of people gathered together not wearing masks. The concert is just one of 12 Rice has scheduled over the coming months.

After seeing the video, Ballerini took to Twitter to blast Rice.

She said: "Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now.

“We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait.”

Rice is yet to respond to Ballerini’s tweet.

He is scheduled to perform next on July 3 in Kentucky before he moves around the country, with the tour ending in Nevada on September 12.

Over the past week the US has seen a huge spike in coronavirus cases as lockdown measures have been eased across the country.
