US rapper Logic announces retirement to focus on being a ‘great father’

US rapper Logic has announced his retirement from music at the age of 30 to focus on being a father.

The musician, whose real name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, became a father after wife Brittney Noell gave birth earlier this year. He announced his retirement to fans by revealing his upcoming and ‘final’ album ‘No Pressure’.

He wrote on Twitter: "Officially announcing my retirement with the release of 'No Pressure’ executive produced by No I.D. July 24th... It’s been a great decade. Now it’s time to be a great father."

The new album title is a call back to his debut in 2014 which was called Under Pressure.

The biggest hit of his career is called ‘1-800-273-8255’, a song about suicide named after the prevention hotline in the US.

The song peaked at number nine in the UK chart and was nominated for a Grammy award.

He began his music career in 2009. Since his first album was released he has produced new music, in EPs and albums, every year.

Hailee Steinfeld, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, Will Smith and Childish Gambino are among the acts he has collaborated with.
