US soccer legend Carli Lloyd calls out fan who labels her a 'bad captain'

US soccer player Carli Lloyd has called out a fan on Twitter who labelled her a 'bad captain' for not giving Julie Ertz the armband on her 100th cap at last night's SheBelieves Cup tie.

Lloyd, who captained the side and scored the second goal, was criticised by a fan who directly tweeted her after the match.

The supporter, who's username is IDK, wrote: "Shame on you for not giving Julie the armband in the game, it just shows how bad of a captain you really are.

"100 caps is an important milestone and you should put your giant ego on the side and give the opportunity to other players. You always wear it anyway jesus."

Lloyd saw the tweet and responded saying: "Shame on you for assuming that I purposely didn’t give her the armband.

"Those that celebrate their 100th cap on their very own celebration game get the arm band. Don’t tweet at me before you don’t know."

The US next play Spain in the tournament on Sunday.
