USWNT announce team to challenge England for SheBelieves Cup title and some big names miss out

Vlatko Andonovski has named his 23-player squad ahead of the SheBelieves Cup starting next week with Jane Campbell, Margaret Purce and Jordan DiBiasi all left out.

The line-up includes all 20 players who helped the US to an undefeated title defence in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers earlier this month.

Two members of the 2019 FIFA World Cup winning side, Mallory Pugh and Tierna Davidson, who missed the qualifiers, are back in the side while Lynn Williams, Casey Short and Andi Sullivan who weren't part of the World Cup side are being given a shot ahead of Tokyo.

Goakeeper Campbell, defender Purce and midfielder DiBasi are not in the side but will continue to train with the squad.

The SheBelieves Cup 2020 is a four-nation tournament featuring the United States, England, Japan and Spain

Goalkeepers: 21-Adrianna Franch, 18-Ashlyn Harris, 1-Alyssa Naeher

Defenders: 7-Abby Dahlkemper, 12-Tierna Davidson, 19-Crystal Dunn , 11-Ali Krieger, 5-Kelley O’Hara, 4-Becky Sauerbrunn, 20-Casey Short, 14-Emily Sonnett

Midfielders:  8-Julie Ertz, 9-Lindsey Horan, 16-Rose Lavelle, 3-Samantha Mewis, 6-Andi Sullivan

Forwards: 7-Tobin Heath, 10-Carli Lloyd, 22-Jessica McDonald, 23-Christen Press, 2-Mallory Pugh, 15-Megan Rapinoe, 13-Lynn Williams

The USWNT will begin their SheBelieves Cup campaign against defending champions England on March 5 in Orlando, Florida.
