Britain's W series champion, Jamie Chadwick has shared her disappointment at the lack of female participation in the Formula 1 E Series.

Chadwick won the inaugural title of the all-female W Series and has been a trailblazer for females in motorsport with her eyes firmly set on a future in Formula 1.

Speaking at the final event of the 2019 F1 Esports season, the 21-year-old racing star said: “It’s a shame we haven’t got enough women racing in Esports.

“Really there should be no reason. It’s definitely something I want to pursue more to find out why that’s not the case."

Daniel Bereznay won the final race of the three-race event. Bereznay races for Alfa Romeo, run by Veloce Esports which also acts as a management firm for W Series champion, Chadwick.

The young female driver was full of praise for the series adding: “Anybody can enter Esports. That’s really cool, and it means you can get a lot of talent feeding through the top."

She has been at the heart of the development of the Veloce brand and admits that seeing some of the top drivers still leaves her impressed saying: "It’s quite cool to go into the office and see the likes of Danny on the sim. The laps he is doing, I’m mind-boggled by, so it’s very cool.” 

Chadwick is currently competing in the F3 Asia Championship series before she begins her W Series title defence in 2020 in what will be her last season in the all-female championships.
