W Series champion Jamie Chadwick signs for Absolute Racing ahead of F3 Asian Championship

British racing star Jamie Chadwick will join Absolute Racing for the 2019/20 F3 Asian Championship this winter.

The Bath-born 21-year-old, who won the inaugural W Series this year, is set to use the FIA certified F3 Series as a stepping stone towards her ongoing development and testing ahead of her W Series title defence in 2020.

After the announcement, she said: “2019 has been a phenomenal year with my MRF, W Series, Williams and Aston Martin experiences, and I am delighted to be adding the Asian F3 series with Absolute Racing to the agenda.

"It is important for me to use this series as part of my testing and development programme to ensure that I am race-fit for whatever 2020 throws at me.

“I expect it to be a very competitive series, as there are some top level drivers and teams entered, so there will be a lot of hard work involved – but that is why it will be of such value."

The series gets underway at Sepang in Malaysia on December 14 and consists of 15 races across five events in four locations (Malaysia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Thailand).

Notably, the championship is FIA certified, meaning it carries Super License points, required for drivers to progress into Formula One.

Chadwick will miss pre-season testing in early December due to her nomination for the Aston Martin BRDC Autosport Young Driver of the Year, which will be announced on December 8.
