West Ham sign Czech Republic international Kateřina Svitková

West Ham United have signed Czech Republic international Kateřina Svitková.

The midfielder is joining the WSL side from Czech club Slavia Prague where she scored 188 goals in 177 appearances.

Svitková, who has 31 international caps, said: “I’m very excited to join West Ham. It’s a very big club, with a big history and in a very nice city.

"I hope I can help the club to achieve their goals and I hope we will be successful.”

Hammers head coach Matt Beard added: “She proved herself a key player for club and country from a young age and, from my perspective, she’s going to be a great addition to our team.

"She creates and scores goals, and she’s got a fantastic work ethic. I’m really excited to see what she brings to the table for us.”

The WSL are aiming to begin their next season on September 5.
