Pictures of US President Donald Trump feature on the front of many of Monday’s papers, while problems with Test and Trace and other coronavirus developments are among the stories being discussed.

The Times leads with suggestions that criminals are getting more lenient sentences as judges take into account the “harsh regime” in prisons during the pandemic.

The Guardian leads with reports of a three-tier lockdown regime for England which, the paper says, could lead to harsher restrictions including the closure of pubs in some areas.

The Daily Telegraph leads on problems with the Test and Trace service, reporting nearly 16,000 cases were not entered into the national system, a story which the Daily Mail calls a “fiasco”.

The Financial Times carries an interview with the head of the government’s vaccine task force saying the programme will not include everyone in the UK.

Metro leads with a “hero woman cop” who was attacked while responding to reports of a robbery.

The i carries a picture of Mr Trump, who has pledged he will be back “soon”.

The Independent reports on a warning to Home Secretary Priti Patel that people smugglers are exploiting migrants.

The Daily Mirror carries details of the impact of coronavirus on Cineworld, with the paper saying up to 5,500 staff are at risk.

The Daily Express carries a statement from Health Secretary Matt Hancock who said Brexit will allow drugs to be approved quicker.

And the Daily Star reports on the forecast of bad weather for those taking part in this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
