Women’s FA Cup Final: Everton 1-3 Manchester City - Holders defend FA Cup in thrilling game

Six months after the original date for the final, Willie Kirk’s Toffees will be looking to dethrone Gareth Taylor’s defending champions in what would be their first FA Cup triumph in a decade.

Meanwhile, City are bidding to lift the trophy for a third time in four years and would move level with Charlton as the fourth most successful team in the competition’s history with a win.

That has to be a really tough one for Everton to take. Manchester City deserved the victory but when they had got themselves back into the game, to then concede when you’re only eight minutes away from penalties is really gut-wrenching.

Everton were spirited and kept themselves in the game for nearly two hours but in the end the class of City shone through.
