Justin Bieber denies allegations he sexually assaulted a 21 year-old girl six years ago

Justin Bieber has denied allegations he sexually assaulted a 21 year-old girl in 2014.

The 26 year-old Canadian singer has responded to the claim in a Twitter statement and will be taking legal action.

Addressing his 112 million followers, he said: "I don’t normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career but after talking with my wife and team I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight.”

It comes after a woman named Danielle said on Twitter she was assaulted by the singer on March 9 six years ago at the Four Seasons hotel in Austin, Texas.

She said a man had asked her and her friends if they wanted to meet the star after he had appeared at South by Southwest festival, to which they said yes.

Danielle explained that Bieber took her to a separate room and assaulted her.

Bieber in response to the allegation said: "I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story. In fact as I will soon show I was never present at that location.

“Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.”

He stated that he did surprise a crowd in Austin and attended the event on that date with his girlfriend at the time Selena Gomez.

He stayed in an airbnb that night with Gomez and made clear that the claim was ‘factually impossible’.

He added: “Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed. However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action.”
