Fraizer Campbell set to miss Huddersfield opener

11 September 2020

Fraizer Campbell is closing in on a return but is still expected to miss Huddersfield’s Sky Bet Championship opener with Norwich.

The striker had been struggling with Achilles tendinitis and was given time off to recover.

Terence Kongolo and Tommy Elphick are sidelined with foot and knee injuries respectively.

Lewis O’Brien, Ryan Schofield, Jonathan Hogg and Rarmani Edmonds-Green are also unavailable for the Terriers.

Norwich will be able to call on their 12 international players who were missing for last Saturday’s EFL Cup defeat at Luton.

Tim Krul, Teemu Pukki, Max Aarons, Todd Cantwell, Ben Godfrey, Adam Idah, Michael McGovern, Kenny McLean, Danel Sinani, Przemyslaw Placheta, Jacob Sorensen and Oliver Skipp are all back in contention.

The Canaries are hoping Xavi Quintilla has recovered from a minor strain to make his debut while fellow loan signing Ben Gibson could also be in contention, with Timm Klose a doubt having sustained a knee injury in the loss at Kenilworth Road.

Emi Buendia completes his three-match suspension while Sam Byram and Grant Hanley (both hamstring) are longer-term absentees and Jamal Lewis this week joined Newcastle.
