Bolton have signed goalkeeper Billy Crellin on a season-long loan deal from Fleetwood.

The 20-year-old England youth international is highly rated by the Sky Bet League One club but has spent the last two seasons on loan with FC United of Manchester and Chorley.

“As soon as I found out Bolton Wanderers were interested I couldn’t turn down a club of this magnitude,” Crellin told Wanderers’ website.

“I want to come here, play and impress, and help this club get back to where it belongs.

“At my age, playing at Bolton Wanderers in a stadium like this and with a great fan base behind us, it will be a brilliant opportunity for me to kick on.”

Head coach Ian Evatt said: “He is the modern-day goalkeeper who is very agile, great with the ball at his feet and commands his area well.”

Bolton later announced the arrival of defender Ricardo Santos on a permanent deal.

The 25 year-old joins from Barnet, where he spent three years, on a two-year contract.

“He is a player I have admired for a while. He is 6ft 6ins tall but is extremely quick and very good with the ball at his feet,” Evatt said.

“Ricardo has all the attributes required to be an outstanding centre-back for this football club.”
