League Two newcomers Barrow without suspended striker Scott Quigley

Sky Bet League Two newboys Barrow will be without suspended striker Scott Quigley for the opening match of the new campaign against Stevenage.

Although eligible for the midweek EFL Trophy tie against Blackpool, Quigley was shown a red card in his last Vanarama National League fixture and so still has two first-team matches left to serve out.

Defender Brad Berry is stepping up his recovery from an injury lay-off, so could soon be in contention, along with Patrick Rough.

Midfielder Josh Kay and defender Matty Platt both also continue their own rehabilitation.

Stevenage have agreed terms to sign Arthur Read on a season-long loan from Championship side Brentford.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who came up through the Luton academy, could be in contention for a league debut.

Boro boss Alex Revell had named seven new signings in the side which started the midweek EFL Trophy tie against Portsmouth.

On-loan Chelsea keeper Jamie Cumming should retain the number one jersey, while Ben Coker and Luke Prosser could both feature again in defence, along with full-back Remeao Hutton, who is on loan from Birmingham.
