Wigan have confirmed that Leam Richardson, Anthony Barry and Nick Colgan will take charge of the first team when they return to training next week.

Richardson, who was Paul Cook’s assistant, first-team coach Barry and goalkeeping coach Colgan will be supported by head of academy Gregor Rioch.

A brief statement added: “The joint administrators held positive discussions with Leam on Monday with regards to the team’s return to training and potential pre-season fixtures.”

Cook left the club on August 1.

Latics will find out on Tuesday afternoon whether their appeal against a 12-point deduction has been successful. The outcome will determine which league they will play in next season.
