Anthony Joshua v Kubrat Pulev postponed as coronavirus pandemic wipes out June blockbuster

World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua's showdown with Kubrat Pulev has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The fight was due to take place on June 20 at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but will now be re-scheduled for a new date which is yet to be announced.

Matchroom Boxing released a statement which said: "A new date for the event promoted by Matchroom Boxing and 258 Management in association with Top Rank and Epic Sports Entertainment is currently being worked on.

"We will announce any updates in due course and continue to explore the possibility of hosting this fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."

Joshua was initially supposed to fight Pulev in October 2017 before the Bulgarian pulled out with an injury and Carlos Takam stepped in.

The Sofia-born boxer has only lost once in 29 fights, which came against Wladimir Klitschko back in 2014.

Meanwhile, Joshua also has one loss on his record as he was beaten last year by Andy Ruiz Jr at Madison Square Garden.

The Brit subsequently reclaimed his heavyweight belts in Saudi Arabia in December, with the Pulev bout scheduled to be his first defence since then.
