Bournemouth will host Crystal Palace in the first ever live Premier League game on the BBC.

According to The Telegraph, the match will take place at 7:45pm on Saturday, June 20 in one of the BBC’s primetime weekend slots.

It is thought the fixture could draw the biggest audience ever for a Premier League match given it is free-to-air and one of the first games back following the coronavirus crisis.

The current record for a Premier League TV audience stands at 4.04 million when Manchester City beat Manchester United 1-0 in April 2012.

The BBC has been given four top flight live games before the end of the season as the Government look to keep as many people indoors as possible by offering sport to the masses.

Amazon Prime also announced earlier this week that their four live games will also be available for free.

And Sky have promised 25 of their remaining 64 matches will be free to access, meaning nearly a third of the 92 games left of the season can be watched without charge.

The first two matches to be played following the return of the Premier League will be Manchester City v Arsenal and Aston Villa v Sheffield United on Wednesday, June 17.

This will then be followed by a full set of fixtures on the weekend of June 19-21.

It is hoped that the season can be concluded before the first week of August when the FA Cup final is scheduled to go ahead.
