Chris Eubank Jr calls out Canelo, Golovkin and Charlo after long period of inactivity

Chris Eubank Jr is keen for a mega-fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin or Jermall Charlo as he bids to re-build momentum in his career.

The 31 year-old claimed the biggest win of his career back in February 2019 when he beat Olympic gold medallist and former world champion James DeGale.

But since then the Brighton-based boxer has secured just one fight which ended inside two rounds when his opponent Matvey Korobov had to pull out due to a shoulder injury.

So now, after another nine months out of the ring and no fight on the horizon, Eubank Jr is keen to seal the biggest name possible.

“I'm No 1 contender for the WBA world titles," he told Sky Sports.

"So Canelo has the super version and Ryota Murata has the regular version. I'm interim WBA world champion, so those are the fights that make sense. I want those belts.

"Charlo, Golovkin, all these guys with belts in my division, whoever I can get fast. Put me in the ring with Canelo, put me in the ring with GGG. These are the guys I want."

Eubank Jr, who is the son of legendary British fighter Chris Eubank, has a record of 29 wins and two defeats since turning professional in 2011.

His two losses have come to elite fighters that have gone on to become world champions in Billy Joe Saunders and George Groves.

Eubank is yet to win his own world title as the IBO strap he previously held is not one of the four recognised as a legitimate, fully-fledged world championship belt.
