John Terry ignores government warning about travelling to Portugal as he jets off on private plane with wife - but takes time to share images with fans

John Terry and wife Toni have posted photos on social media of them jetting off to Portugal - despite Government warnings against holidaying there.

The pair used a private jet, then helicopter to reach the luxury villa they own on the exclusive complex.

It comes after thousands of people have had flights and accommodation cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And some have criticised the couple for flaunting their ability to go on holiday while many others are unable to do so.

A source told The Sun: "John and Toni love nothing more than spending time in Portugal.

"But some of the millions of holidaymakers who have spent the past few days on the phone to airlines trying to get their money back for cancelled flights, or trying to get time off work because they now need to quarantine when they return, may find it all a bit galling.

"Everyone knows footballers enjoy amazing lifestyles but sometimes they might think a bit more about the average fan before putting it on social media."

Under current regulations, John and Toni will have to quarantine for two weeks when they return from Portugal - meaning the couple will be forced to remain at their £5.5m Surrey mansion.
