Head coach Brian Dutton hopes Walsall can polish “rough diamond” Emmanuel Osadebe over the next few years after he signed a new deal at the club.

The 24-year-old midfielder has made 35 appearances for the Saddlers this season and scored his first goal for the club with a penalty in last month’s 1-1 draw with Crawley.

Dutton said: “He is a rough diamond and someone who can have a stellar career if he focuses, knuckles down, learns and develops.

“He’s only 24 years of age and hopefully we can polish him up into the player we all think he can be.”

The length of the deal has not been disclosed.
