Forest Green striker Jamille Matt has triggered an extension in his contract.

The 31-year-old forward will stay at the New Lawn for a further 12 months having made 23 appearances for Mark Cooper’s side since moving from League Two rivals Newport in the summer.

The Jamaican-born striker has scored nine goals in all competitions to lead the Rovers scoring this season

Forest Green director of football Rich Green told the club website: “Since joining the club, Jamille has shown his value both on and off the pitch. He has been excellent in leading the line for us and has also been a positive influence within our group.

“We are delighted to be able to announce this extension and we look forward to the rest of this season and beyond.”
