Mike Tyson v Roy Jones Jr pay-per-view set to cost US fight fans $50

The Mike Tyson/Roy Jones Jr fight in September is expected to cost fight fans in the United States $50 on pay-per-view.

The two former world champions, both now in their 50s, have agreed to return to the ring for a one-off exhibition bout.

But fans of the pair will have to fork out $49.99 (£39) to watch the unique event, The Athletic reports.

It has not yet been confirmed which broadcaster will show the fight in the UK and therefore no price has yet been announced for British fans.

Meanwhile, the fight has attracted controversy as many are unsure about the safety of two men boxing in their 50s.

But Jones, who only retired in 2018, has assured people he is well aware of the risks.

Speaking to World Boxing News, he said: "His legs are huge and his thighs are huge. His arms are huge and his neck is huge!

"It’s very risky, yes. But God’s in control of all. [Previously] I was beating everybody in every weight class I was in, so what you gonna do?

"It’s like David and Goliath. He’s a giant monster, we know. I’m little David and all I’ve got is God on my side, which is all I’m gonna need."

Tyson finished his professional career with a record of 50 victories and six defeats.

Jones hung up his gloves after an incredible 29-years with 66 wins and nine defeats under his belt, although it was widely agreed he had gone on way past his prime.
