Premier League and EFL suspended until April 3 due to coronavirus pandemic

All Premier League and EFL fixtures have been suspended until at least April 3 as a result of the spread of coronavirus.

The Women's Super League and Women's Championship will also be postponed for the same length of time.

All Scottish football has also been postponed until the beginning of next month.

Premier League officials have said the competition will return on April 4 'subject to medical advice and conditions at the time', while the Championship is hoping to resume a day earlier.

The England men's international fixtures against Italy on March 27 and Denmark on March 31 have also been called off.

Next week's Champions League and Europa League ties had already been suspended, with a statement saying: "In the light of developments due to the spread of COVID-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments, all Uefa club competitions matches scheduled next week are postponed.

"This includes the remaining Uefa Champions League, round of 16 second leg matches scheduled on 17 and 18 March 2020; all Uefa Europa League, Round of 16 second leg matches scheduled on 19 March 2020; all Uefa Youth League, quarter-final matches scheduled on 17 and 18 March 2020."

Sporting competitions and events which have been postponed today include:

- Uefa has postponed next week's Champions League and Europa League fixtures

- England's Test cricket series in Sri Lanka has been cancelled

- Golf's Players Championship in Florida was called off after one round

- French football's governing body has suspended its top two leagues

- Formula E is suspended for two months, affecting races in Paris, Seoul and Jakarta
