Rugby's Champions and Challenge Cup finals postponed

Both of rugby's Champions and Challenge Cup semi-finals and finals have now been postponed.

The finals of both competitions were scheduled to take place on the weekend of May 22-23 in Marseille, France.

Though the tournaments have been delayed, European rugby bosses have said they are determined to finish the season.

The quarter-finals of both competitions, scheduled for the beginning of April, had already been postponed.

This follows the cancellation of Welsh, Irish and English domestic rugby competitions.

A statement read: "All contingencies are underpinned by the requirement to protect the health and welfare of players, club staff, match officials, supporters and the wider rugby community.

"It is planned to reschedule the quarter-final and semi-final matches, as well as the Marseille finals, in line with fixtures in the professional league competitions, subject to advice from government and local authorities."
