Marquinhos reached the symbolic bar of the 300 matches played with Paris Saint-Germain on 13 January 2021 during the Champions Trophy against Marseille. The Brazilian arrived at the club in July 2013 from AS Roma at the age of 19. Marquinhos continued to emancipate himself until he became the captain of the club after the departure of Thiago Silva in August 2020.
