Watch: Look back at Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho's first goal for Bayern Munich

Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Bundesliga table-toppers Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian has scored nine goals in 32 appearances for the German side, but reports today from Spanish website Sport have indicated he could well move on loan to Chelsea next season.

Coutinho left the Premier League in 2018 after six years with Liverpool in which he played over 200 games, bagging 54 goals.

The Spanish outlet said: "Barca is doing its utmost to ensure that the negotiations reach a successful conclusion as soon as possible.

"The Blaugrana put Coutinho on the market in January and their representatives have focused their efforts on the Premier League. At the moment, there are negotiations with Chelsea and there is some optimism a deal could be concluded although it is unclear what will happen in June 2021.

"Barca would like to include a mandatory purchase option of a little more than 65 million euros before June 30, but Chelsea would prefer it to be optional even if the loan amount was higher."
