Watch: Tottenham defender Alderweireld on 'strange' feeling of being in London during coronavirus lockdown

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has spoken about what day-to-day life is like as a Premier League player without any matches.

The 31 year-old decided to remain in London during the coronavirus lockdown rather than travelling back home to Belgium.

And while he has his wife and two children with him, Alderweireld admits it does feel weird not to be back in his home country.

He said: "It's a strange feeling as I'm still in London of course, but it's strange in this time that I'm six or seven hours away from my family. Even (though) if I was there I wouldn't be able to see them, but it's a strange feeling.

"But it's ok, that's something I have to deal with and I'm happy my wife and my two children are here. But they're all good so I'm happy with that."
