Mikael Mandron makes Crewe switch

Promoted Crewe have further boosted their firepower with the signing of Gillingham striker Mikael Mandron.

The 25-year-old Frenchman is a graduate of the Sunderland academy and has made over 100 appearances in English football across spells with clubs including Wigan, Colchester and the Gills.

Crewe said Mandron had joined from Gillingham on a free transfer, following Congolese forward Offrande Zanzala to Gresty Road this summer to bolster manager David Artell’s front-line options.

Mandron said in a video published on Crewe’s Twitter account: “I know it’s a club who love to play good football and that was the main thing for me.”
