Swindon have announced the signing of goalkeeper Joe Fryer on a short-term contract until January.

The 24-year-old has been recovering from a broken leg while playing on loan at Carlisle during 2018 and was a free agent after his deal at Middlesbrough expired.

Fryer, who had been on trial at the County Ground during pre-season, told the Swindon website: “I’ve trained here for a couple of days and the club said they want to sign me, so I said let’s get something done.”
