Eilidh Doyle posts pictures to show you can train for the Olympics and be a new mum at the same time

British runner Eilidh Doyle has updated fans on her return to competition with a heart-warming photo showing how she balances training and being a mother.

The new mother posted photos on Twitter of taking a break from training to have a cuddle with baby son, Campbell Conor Doyle.

She accompanied the pictures with the caption: "Training is a lot more fun when you get to have cuddles in between reps."

Doyle, who is the Scottish record holder in the 400m hurdles and the indoor 400m, gave birth to Campbell in January and is now determined to return to competition in time for the Tokyo Olympics in July.

The 33 year-old announced her pregnancy news in August 2019 and assured fans it would not be the end of her career.

The three-time commonwealth silver medallist said: "I'm not retiring yet, I'm planning to get back."
