UK Athletics appoint former England Netball chief Joanna Adams as new CEO

UK Athletics have named former England Netball chief Joanna Adams as their new CEO.

In a number of changes to the national governing body, Chris Clark will step down as chair of the organisation and will be temporarily replaced by Nic Coward.

This is the latest re-shuffle in a turbulent time for UK Athletics which has seen performance director Neil Black leave in October, Richard Bowker leave his role as chair, and Zara Hyde-Peters decline the role as chief executive due to allegations made about her husband.

Speaking about Adams' new role, Clark said: "With Joanna's appointment and her track record of success in not only sports governance but also commercial, marketing and competition structures, it means we have excellent leadership to take the sport on in a positive future direction."

Adams currently works as chief commercial officer for the London Legacy Development Corporation having left England Netball after four years.
