Australia's Ellyse Perry wins Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award and ODI Cricketer of the Year at 2019 ICC awards

Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has been presented with the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for women's cricketer of the year.

The Aussie also picked up the title of Women's ODI Player of the Year.

It is the second time in three years Perry has claimed cricketer of the year having won it in its inaugural 2017 edition.

"It's an amazing honour and I'm a little bit shocked, given how many amazing performances there have been across the year," she said.

"It's amazing to be acknowledged and i do truly appreciate it. It's a really nice way to finish the year on a personal note."

The 29-year-old had a stellar 2019 across all formats, scoring three centuries, including one in the Ashes test.

She also averaged an impressive 73.50 from 12 ODIs this year and has taken 21 ODI wickets, including national record figures of 7/22.

Perry also became the first player in history to achieve 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in international T20 Cricket.

Meanwhile, Perry's Australia teammate and batting opener Alyssa Healy was named T20I Cricket of the Year for the second consecutive year.

The wicket-keeper scored a world record 148* off 61 balls against Sri Lanka in October, making the landmark hundred off 46, the fastest by any male or female Australian player.

Perry and Healy have been named in both the ODI and T20I teams of the year, with Australian captain Meg Lanning announced as skipper for the two sides.

"It's a huge honour to be named captain of the ICC ODI and T20 Teams of the Year alongside some incredible players," said Lanning.

"It's been an amazing year for the Australian team and we're looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead in 2020.

"A home T20 World Cup is an opportunity that doesn’t come along often, but we are looking forward to and embracing the challenge of performing well in front of our home crowd."

Thailand's Chanida Sutthirung was named Emerging Player of the Year after her figures of 12 for 68 in the quadrangular qualification series with Ireland, Scotland and The Netherlands helped her side reach their first ICC global event.
