Terri Harper hoping to follow in Katie Taylor's footsteps as she seeks big unification fights

Newly-crowned WBC World Super Featherweight champion Terri Harper is hoping to emulate Katie Taylor by collecting all the belts in her division.

The 23 year-old beat Eva Wahlstrom by unanimous decision earlier this month to become the first British woman to win the WBC title.

And while Harper has already made history as one of the modern day stars of British boxing, she remains in a hurry to further the legacy.

Speaking to Boxing Scene, she said: “I want to continue to unify the division but I leave those things to Stefy Bull and Eddie Hearn. Stefy wants me to fight for the WBO title next and add it to my IBO and WBC titles. I would absolutely love to do that.

“What Katie Taylor has done for women’s boxing is amazing. She has been a massive inspiration to me throughout my boxing career and she has given people like myself the chance to dream of making it on the big stage. Hopefully I can follow in her footsteps and win all of the belts.”

Harper will now be looking to unify with any of the other champions in the 126 pound super featherweight division.

They are WBA champion Hyun Mi Choi, IBF title holder Maiva Hamadouche and WBO champion Ewa Brodnicka.
