Brighton manager Hope Powell keen for the Women's Super League season to be finished

Brighton boss Hope Powell wants to see the 2019/20 Women's Super League season completed, providing the health of people is not put at risk.

All elite football in England is currently suspended until at least April 30.

The FA came said last week they hoped to complete the WSL campaign by early August.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Powell said: "We don't have a crystal ball so nobody knows how long it is going to last and when the season can resume. I think everybody from an athlete and coach perspective, of course, wants the season to finish.

"We need to leave it for those decision-makers who are in constant contact with medical advisors. They will make the best decision and base that on people's health and wellbeing and safety, I am sure."

Brighton currently sit in ninth place in the WSL, seven points clear of Liverpool in the relegation zone.
