Britain's Ondine Achampong wins silver on the beam at Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne

Great Britain's Ondine Achampong has won silver medal in the beam event at the Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne.

The event, which was the the 16-year-old's first international competition as a senior gymnast, also served as qualification for the Olympics in Tokyo later this year.

And Achampong, who was competing at the opening apparatus World Cup of the 2020 season, successfully qualified for two finals, in both the beam and on the floor.

In the final of the beam, she increased the difficulty of her routine and it paid off as she sealed second place with a score of 13.166.

And on the floor she nearly grabbed another medal, but just missed out as she finished fourth on 12.700.
