Charlton Athletic have extended Charley Clifford’s contract ahead of the FA Championship 2020/21 season.

The 27 year-old midfielder has made 265 appearances for the side and is only seven games away from equalling the all-time record, currently held by first team coach Kim Dixson.

Clifford said: “We have something to prove this season so I’m looking forward to the challenge!”

The side finished in the relegation zone at the end of last season.

The 2020/21 Championship season is set to begin on September 5.
