Collingwood Magpies shooter Nat Medhurst has announced the birth of her son with former West Coast Eagles star and partner Sam Butler.  

The 36 year-old revealed the news today that her baby boy named Edison Butler was born on July 7. 

Medhurst has also represented Australia at the 2007, 2011 and 2015 Netball World Championships, winning gold on all three occasions. 

She posted a picture of Edison on Instagram, writing: “Let family life begin... ⁣ ⁣ 07/07/2020 we welcomed our little man, Edison Butler ... & we couldn’t be more in love & obsessed with the guy. Our lives will never be the same again."

She also thanked Butler for being so supportive during her pregnancy. 

The 2014 Commonwealth Games champion added: “To my main man, @sam_buts ... thank you for being the most incredible & supportive partner to me throughout this whole time & for being by my side this past week. 

"Can’t love you more & Edison is one lucky boy to have you as his Dad. (*Just steer clear of the ‘your Mum’ jokes for now thanks!) .. let’s do this parent thing. Love you. Let family life begin... ⁣”
