England stunned by Sri Lanka as Lisa Keightley's side lose by ten wickets in final T20 World Cup warm-up

England were on the wrong end of a major upset in their final T20 World Cup warm-up match as Sri Lanka beat them by ten wickets in Adelaide.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat, Lisa Keightley's side were reduced to just 122 as only Amy Jones and Lauren Winfield managed more than 20.

Sri Lankan off-spinner Shashikala Siriwardene took four wickets for just 22 runs in a superb bowling display.

In response, Chamari Atapattu hit a sensational 78 as Sri Lanka reached the target without losing a wicket and with 45 balls to spare.

England now head into their first T20 World Cup match on Sunday against South Africa off the back of what was a desolate performance.

Speaking after the match, captain Heather Knight said: "It was a disappointing performance, but I'd rather we got it out of the way ahead of the World Cup.

"Their spinners bowled well and drove it into the pitch and we probably didn't adapt to that quick enough, and when you add in a few run-outs it gets more difficult.

"Chamari batted really well for Sri Lanka and she just took the game away from us. It might give us a little kick up the backside, which might not be a bad thing."
