Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan tips Aussies to win T20 World Cup

Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan has tipped Australia to win the Women's T20 World Cup.

The 45-year-old, who played for England for nearly a decade between 1999 and 2008, led his country to a famous Ashes victory over their Aussie rivals back in 2005.

But Vaughan put his allegiance to one side following Australia Women's crucial victory over Sri Lanka to post his prediction about the T20 World Cup on social media.

Speaking on Twitter, he said: "Aussies to Win the #T20WorldCup after that win me thinks ... !! @FoxCricket !!"

Australia, who are the holders and hosts of the 2020 edition, were stunned in their opening game as they were beaten by 17 runs at the hands of India.

But they recovered to edge past Sri Lanka on Monday and now sit third in their group with Bangladesh and New Zealand still to play.
