Cricket royalty Sachin Tendulkar has sent an inspirational message to the Indian Women's cricket team ahead of their T20 World Cup final against Australia on Sunday.

India reached the final for the first time, having advanced through their rain-affected semi-final against England without a ball being played.

Speaking at an event in Mumbai, the all-time leading run scorer encouraged the women to 'enjoy' the experience and 'live in the moment'.

"My message to them would be to go out and give your best," he said. "I would tell them to not take any pressure. They don’t need to spend time with the outside world."

India are playing defending champions Australia in their first T20 World Cup final and the 'little master' praised them for 'inspiring the nation' and urged them to bring the trophy back to India.

“Just live in the moment and play the finals," said the 2011 ODI World Champion. "I was there next to the trophy when I was in Australia, and few members of our women’s team were there with me.

"I told them that it would be nice to see you with the trophy back in India.”

India play Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday March 8 in front of an expected record crowd.
