Watch Katy Perry promise 'fireworks' ahead of pregnant performance at T20 World Cup Final

Global superstar Katy Perry has promised fans a 'female-centric' show for her performance at the T20 World Cup final between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

The 35year-old, who recently announced that she was expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom, will take to the stage at the famous MCG to celebrate International Women's Day.

Speaking at a press day ahead of the final, the pregnant singer said: "It's gonna be female-centric. There's gonna be lots of female symbolism.

"It's gonna be my first show that I'll be playing while being pregnant so that's gonna have its own female-centric vibe about it and there's gonna be lots of strong messages through the music and the show," she added.

She promised to give fans 'what they know', saying: "I'm not gonna shoot myself in the foot.

"You came for Roar, you came for Firework, and that's what I'm going to give you," laughed the American.

Perry will be performing at the 100,024-capacity ground in front of what organisers are hoping to be a record-breaking crowd.

Having sold over 50,000 tickets already, tournament authorities are hoping to top the current world record for attendance and an international women's event which was set at the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup in California and stands at 90,185.
