West Indies beat Thailand by seven wickets in T20 Cricket World Cup to avoid upset

The West Indies avoided upset at the T20 Cricket World Cup as they beat Thailand by seven wickets.

Thailand are playing at their first major global tournament and struggled to post 78-9.

However, the West Indies were unimpressive in reply as they reached 27-3 - and nearly 27-4 - had it not been for an unsuccessul lbw review by Shemaine Campbelle.

Captain Stafanie Taylor and Campbelle were then able to secure victory for their side with 20 balls to spare.

This is the second match that has taken place so far at the tournament being held in Australia.

The hosts were shocked with defeat to India in yesterday's opening match.

Meanwhile, England will get their campaign underway tomorrow against South Africa.
