Crystal Palace sign Georgia Clifford ahead of 2020/21 Championship season

Georgia Clifford has signed for Championship side Crystal Palace ahead of the upcoming 2020/21 season.

The 20 year-old defender has come from Oxford United, where she was named Player of the Season during last year’s campaign.

Before she arrived at Oxford United she sustained an ACL injury during her two seasons with Women’s Super League side Reading.

On her new signing, she said: "I’m really excited to join Palace as it has always been a club I have admired.

“The drive and determination within the staff and players to keep developing and to move higher within the women’s game is something I look for in a club.”

Manager Dean Davenport added: “To return from a severe ACL in the manner in which Georgia has demonstrates the characteristics that I look for in our players.”

She is the second defensive signing of the summer and will join Ffion Morgan.

The FA Women’s Championship is set to begin on September 6.
