Sarah Storey leads the way as Britain win multiple medals at cycling world championships in Yorkshire

Great Britain's Sarah Storey claimed victory in the women's C5 road race in front of a home crowd in Yorkshire.

The 41-year-old came over the line alone after a 35.4 mile race to take the win, which was also a qualifying race for Tokyo 2020.

Meanwhile, fellow Briton William Bjergfelt won the men's C5 race and Steve Bate and Adam Duggleby took the B-class tandem.

The championships are being held in Britain for the first time since 1982 when Italy's Giuseppe Saronni and home favourite Mandy Jones won at Goodwood.

The action continues until Sunday, September 29 with the finale of the men's race, while the women's race will be decided on the Saturday.
