And Sherrock, who last year became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championships, was one of many who took to the ice rink in a bid to showcase their skating talents.

The 26 year-old sensationally reached the third round of the world championships at the end of 2019 as she beat Ted Evetts and Mensur Sulijovic on her way to the third round.

She was eventually beaten by 22nd seed Chris Dobey.

Speaking about the various auditions, a source told The Sun: "Everyone was in high spirits and excited to be working again.

"Places on a primetime show are lucrative and contestants get a huge career boost by taking part.

"There are likely to be other auditions for celebrities based in more remote areas, and even abroad."

Last year’s winner of the show was former Eastenders actor and TV personality Joe Swash.
