England and Manchester City midfielder Jill Scott has announced her engagement to partner Shelly Unitt. 

The 32 year-old, who has been with Unitt for nearly five years, shared the news over social media as she revealed her ring with the caption 'The best coffee so far'.

Many of her fellow teammates congratulated the pair, with England and Man City captain Steph Houghton posting: "The best news ever. Hen partayyyy here we come! Love you!"

Fellow Lioness and City forward Nikita Parris added: "Jillly!! Wow, AMAZING!! I am so happy for you both, Congratulations.

Scott has made 83 appearances for City since she signed in 2013 and has also continued to be a staple of the England national side.

She was a part of the squad for Phil Neville's team's disappointing SheBelieves Cup campaign earlier this month. 

Man City currently sit at the top of the Women's Super League table, but all matches have recently been suspended until at least the beginning of April due to the coronavirus.
